GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Gators signed the bulk of their 2020 recruiting class during the Early Signing Period in December, adding 22 players to the roster.
And once they were done, the Gators put the finishing touches on an 11-2 season with an Orange Bowl victory over Virginia.
Next up for the Gators is to add the final pieces of the 2020 class on Wednesday's National Signing Day. Compared to National Signing Days of the past, prior to the birth of the Early Signing Period, it should be a rather standard day for the Gators considering how many players they already have in the fold.
Still, there's always a surprise or two and here at FloridaGators.com and NSD.FloridaGators.com, we will provide coverage of National Signing Day, sponsored by Regions, to keep you updated on Florida's newest players.
UF head coach Dan Mullen has a press conference scheduled at 2 p.m. to discuss NSD and other topics around the team.
Since Florida's win over Virginia on Dec. 30 at Hard Rock Stadium, the Gators have surged forward into 2020.
First, four upperclassmen from the 2019 team returned rather than enter the NFL Draft: receivers Trevon Grimes and Kadarius Toney, and defensive backs Marco Wilson and Shawn Davis. Next, the Gators added transfer running back Lorenzo Lingard from Miami along with three other newcomers: defensive lineman Noah Keeter (Gainesville, Fla./UCLA), offensive lineman Hayden Knighton (Cape Coral, Fla./Oasis), kicker Zack Sessa (Venice, Fla./Venice) enrolled in school in January.
Those four players joined 11 signees from December's Early Signing Period to give the Gators a program-record 15 mid-year enrollees who are on campus and will compete in spring camp.
