GAINESVILLE, Fla. – For the second straight day, Ashley McCool posted a 2020 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championship automatic bid at the Diving Zones at Gabrielseon Natatorium in Athens, Ga.
McCool, already punching a ticket into the 1-meter yesterday, finished in second-place with a combined score of 667.80 on the 3-meter board to earn a spot in the event next week in Athens.
In the finals, she would post a 6-dive tally of 340.30, less than nine total points than her best mark as a Gator of 349.15 set at the Georgia Tech Invite.
Brooke Madden also moved on to the evening finals, posting an 11th-place nod with an overall score of 586.20.
She would improve off her 11th-place prelim mark by 4.8 points in the final round.
The three-time All-American can gain a NCAA qualification for the event with a top-eight platform finish tomorrow.
Four more Gators would take to the springboard on the second day of diving in Athens.
Abigail Howell would notch a 25th-place finish with her preliminary tally of 255.35. SEC Championships platform silver medalist Emma Whitner was just seven points behind her to finish in 29th with her score of 248.30.
Lauren Snider (32nd) and Elizabeth Perez (34th) would round-out Florida's finishers as Snider tallied a 6-dive score of 245.50, while Perez finished with her preliminary total of 240.30.
