The Florida men's basketball team has added Daytona Beach native Colin Castleton to its roster. The 6-foot-11 forward made 44 appearances over the past two seasons at the University of Michigan.
Castleton averaged 3.4 points and 2.7 rebounds off the bench during his sophomore outing in 2019-20, shooting .533 from the field. Castleton's career-best 14 points came vs. Houston Baptist, and he also posted double-figure scoring performances against Nebraska (11) and Iowa State (10).
As a high school senior, Castleton finished in the top 10 for the state of Florida's Mr. Basketball award, averaging 24.5 points per game at Father Lopez Catholic in Daytona Beach.
Under NCAA transfer regulations, Castleton will sit for the 2020-21 season and be eligible to compete in 2021-22 with two years remaining.
