2020 Competition for SEC Sports of Cross Country, Soccer & Volleyball Start After August 31

The Southeastern Conference announced today 2020 competition for cross country, soccer and volleyball begins Sept. 1.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Southeastern Conference Commissioner Greg Sankey announced today the start of fall 2020 competition for the sports of cross country, soccer and volleyball is delayed through August 31. This decision provides additional time for safe return of competition preparations.

Games, meets or matches, including pre-season events, cannot happen until after August 31.
 
For the Gator athletic program, the first event on the fall calendar before today's SEC announcement was a home exhibition soccer match versus Mercer on Aug. 10. There are student-athletes from these sports are currently on campus and they will continue preparations for the 2020 season.
