NCAA Announces New Basketball Start Date
Wednesday, September 16, 2020 | Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball
The NCAA Council has approved Wednesday, Nov. 25, as this season's new start date for men's and women's basketball and has recommended playing a minimum of four non-conference games.
The Florida Gators, in consultation with the Southeastern Conference, will evaluate how these guidelines and recommendations will impact the teams' 2020-21 schedule and announce an updated schedule for both teams at a later date.
Teams may begin a transition period beginning Sept. 21 and start preseason practice on Oct. 14. Teams can hold a maximum of 30 days of practice within that 42-day window between Oct. 14 and Nov. 25.
