Kayla DiCello won all-around bronze at 2021 World Championships

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – World Championships' all-around bronze medalist Kayla DiCello signed with the Gator gymnastics team, UF head coach Jenny Rowland announced today.
DiCello is the fifth U.S. gymnast who earned a World Championships' all-around medal to sign with a collegiate program. Of the other four, three have Gator ties. Gator Great Bridget Sloan (2013-16) was the first World Championships' all-around gold medalist to compete as a collegiate. The upcoming season's Gator roster includes two more – Leanne Wong (2021 World silver) and January enrollee Morgan Hurd (2017 World gold; 2018 bronze).

About DiCello:
A member of the U.S. Senior National Team since 2019-20, DiCello traveled to Tokyo in July as a replacement athlete for the Summer Olympics. She returned to Japan last month as part of the U.S.'s four member team for the World Championships. In addition to her Worlds' all-around bronze, DiCello advanced to the event finals for balance beam and floor exercise.
This summer, DiCello was floor runner-up at the U.S. Championships. She took fifth on floor and was sixth for all-around and balance beam at the U.S. Olympic Trials. DiCello took second in the 2020 American Cup all-around in her U.S. Senior international debut. In her final season as a junior competitor, DiCello won the 2019 U.S. Championships all-around, vault and floor titles and was third on beam.
