Gators Close Fall Schedule with Strong Showing Against Seminoles

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida softball program closed out its fall slate of exhibitions Sunday afternoon by outscoring Florida State 17-4 (13-3 & 4-1) over 10 innings at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.
The Gators offense pounded out 22 hits throughout the exhibition with three doubles, a triple and a pair of home runs. Freshman shortstop Reagan Walsh turned in another solid outing at the plate as she was 5-for-6 (.833) with a double and a two-run home run that probably still hasn't landed yet. The Redondo Beach, Calif. native also drove in six runs in the effort.
Charla Echols (3-for-5), Julia Cottrill (3-for-3), Hannah Adams (2-for-6), Cheyenne Lindsey (2-for-5) and Kendra Falby (2-for-5) each also turned in multi-hit games. Sarah Longley also blasted a solo home run for the Gators, while Skylar Wallace, Bryn Thomas, Marissa Mesiemore and Avery Goelz each contributed a hit.
In the circle, Mesiemore earned the start against the Seminoles where she hurled 4.0 innings and allowed only three runs on seven hits, none of which went for extra bases.
Freshman Lexie Delbrey followed up to throw 4.0 shutout innings and produced eight strikeouts, while allowing only one hit. Rylee Trlicek closed out the final 2.0 innings and allowed two hits and one run.
The trio only issued one walk and one extra-base hit, a double, over the full 10-inning exhibition.
