Florida Concludes Opening Round at Moon Golf Invitational

The Gators are ninth following the first of three rounds in Melbourne.
MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Florida women's golf team kicked off competition at the Moon Golf Invitational, carding a 3-over par 291 to sit in ninth place heading into the second round.

Annabell Fuller and Elin Esborn paced the way for the Gators, turning in even scorecards to sit in a tie for 19th place alongside 11 other golfers.

Esborn did not miss a beat after COVID-19 travel restrictions didn't allow for her to rejoin the Gators in the fall. The redshirt senior recorded a near-perfect scorecard, accounting for one bogey and one birdie to sit even heading into tomorrow's round.

Jenny Kim, who appeared in the Florida lineup for the first time this year, sits comfortably 1-over par and tied for 32nd place.

Addie Baggarly, who is tied for 40th individually, sits one stroke behind Kim.

Marina Escobar Domingo rounded out the Gators lineup.

Florida will head back out on the course for the second round tomorrow morning at 8:10 a.m. ET and look to climb the leaderboard.
