Brings total to nine women's golfers earning academic honors during the 2020-21 campaign.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. –
Maisie Filler was named to the SEC First Year Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the Southeastern Conference on Tuesday.
The announcement brings the Florida women's golf program to a total of nine honorees during the 2020-21 academic year as last week,
eight Gators earned a spot on the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll.
Today's announcement brings Florida's total of student-athletes named to a 2020-21 SEC Academic Honor Roll to a program-record 378, which is
70 percent of UF's student-athletes. Florida placed 301 on SEC Academic Honor Rolls (107 on fall list; 62 winter, 132 on spring) and 77 on the First-Year Honor Roll.
To be recognized for the SEC Academic Honor Roll, each student-athlete must meet the following criteria: 1) have a GPA of 3.00 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; 2) be on scholarship, a letterwinner or have participated on a varsity team for two years if non-scholarship; 3) have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and 4) have been a member of the varsity team for the sport's entire NCAA Championship segment.
