
Castillo Named PING All-American Honorable Mention

Ricky Castillo was selected as a PING All-American Honorable Mention on Monday.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Florida men's golfer Ricky Castillo continues to add to his resume as he was named a Division I PING All-American Honorable Mention, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced on Monday.
He capped off an impressive sophomore campaign leading the team with the lowest scoring average (71.06), birdies (115), and eagles (5). Appearing in all 10 tournaments, his late-round heroics in the NCAA Cle Elum Regionals were astronomical in the Gators final push to qualify for Championship play. Castillo qualified individually for the final day at the NCAA Championship, finishing 12th overall. He rounded out the season posting a team-high 16 rounds under-par and a team-low 64 in the final round at the Gator Invitational.
A total of 28 golfers were recognized as Honorable Mentions.
