Gators Add Tuongthach Gatkek

The Florida men's basketball team has added forward Tuongthach Gatkek, the team announced on Friday. Gatkek comes to the Gators from Trinity Valley (Texas) Community College, where he averaged 10 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.2 blocked shots per game in 2020-21.
The 6-foot-9 Portland, Maine, native helped TVCC to a 23-3 record while earning All-Region Honors last season. He had 19 points in the Cardinals' second-round NJCAA Tournament game and tallied a season-high 23 points in a win vs. Tyler Junior College.
Gatkek played his high school basketball at Caprock High School in Amarillo, Texas.
He joins a group of new faces on the Gators next season that includes four other incoming transfers, two freshmen and a pair of new assistant coaches.
