Kaiir Elam was named to the AP Preseason All-America Second Team.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Gators cornerback Kaiir Elam was named to the AP 2021 Preseason All-America Team on Monday.
The honor is the first of his career as he was named to the second team. Elam has collected preseason nods of All-SEC Second Team, Chuck Bednarik, Jim Thorpe and Bronko Nagurski Award watch list recipient.
Last season he starred all 12 games, posting 39 tackles (28 solo), 11 pass breakups and two interceptions.
Florida opens the season at home Sept. 4 against Florida Atlantic at 7:30 p.m.
