Gator great Patric Young was part of University of Florida summer commencement activities on Friday after he earned his Master's degree in management. Young finished his decorated Gator career and graduated in 2014 before playing basketball professionally, also becoming a business owner during that time.
Young excelled on and off the court during his undergrad years, earning Academic All-American honors and a three-time SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year. He was an All-American and the SEC Defensive Player of the Year in 2014 as he helped lead the Gators to a Final Four appearance and a 36-3 record that included a program-record 30-game winning streak.
A Jacksonville native, Young also earned the Doug Belden Award and Ben Hill Griffin Award his senior year, which go to the outstanding graduating student-athlete and male graduating student-athlete, respectively.
