Yuxin Lin notched a hole-in-one as Florida sits tied for fifth after round one.
OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill.- The Florida men's golf team concluded the first round of the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational in a tie for fifth on Friday.
Yuxin Lin highlighted the opening round with a hole-in-one on the eighth hole (200 yards) as he finished 1-over-par at 71. Also shooting a one-over was Christophe Stutts, who earned his first career start in the Gators lineup and started his day with back-to-back birdies to check in T13.
Junior John DuBois also placed in the top-25 and bounced back with a 2-under front nine to finish T22 at 72 (+2). Rounding out the UF group was Joe Pagdin (74) and Ricky Castillo (78)
Competing as an individual,Giovanni Manzoni turned in an even 70 at Olympia Fields to lead all individuals in T8th.
Round two is set for tomorrow at 9 a.m. ET
