GAINESVILLE, Fla. – After an impressive start to her 2022 Indoor Season at the Clemson Invitational, hurdler Grace Stark was named the NCAA Division I Women's USTFCCCA's National Athlete of the Week and SEC Women's Co-Runner of the Week.
The Michigan native blew away her own PR in the 60m Hurdles with a time of 7.86 seconds in the finals of the event. That time set the new school record and moved her into a tie for third on the all-time NCAA list. She is currently the NCAA leader in the event and second in the world.
She becomes the first Gator female athlete to be named National Athlete of the Week during the indoor season and the first Florida Track and Field athlete to win the honor since Grant Holloway in 2019.
This is the second time Stark has won SEC weekly honors. She was also named SEC Women's Co-Runner of the Week on February 16, 2021 following her performance at the 2021 Tyson Invitational.
Stark won Indoor All-American Honors in 2020 and 2021. She was also the 2020 SEC Indoor Women's Freshman Runner of the Year and 2021 SEC Outdoor Women's Co-Newcomer of the Year.
