GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Billy Napier's first game as Florida's head coach is more than seven months away, but he has already passed the test according to a prominent national website.
Napier aced the task of filling out his on-field coaching staff according to 247Sports.com.
In one of the busiest coaching carousel cycles in recent memory, Florida was one of 29 programs in the nation to hire a new head football coach. And since his arrival at UF on Dec. 5, one of Napier's top priorities has been to build the staff that will help him lead the Gators to the top.
"Our first task will be hiring a quality coaching and support staff," Napier said during his introductory press conference. "I firmly believe that hiring talented people with integrity in an organization decides how far we go."
247Sports released its grades Tuesday for the new on-field coaching staffs at the 29 schools, ranking Napier and company as the No. 1 group in the nation. Brent Venables's staff at Oklahoma and Dan Lanning's crew in Oregon followed Florida at second and third, respectively.
