Skip Donald, Aleksas Savickas, and Zoe Dixon earn first conference honors
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – For the third time this season, the No. 3/11 Florida Men's and Women's swimming and diving team earned three SEC weekly honors, the conference announced Tuesday. Skip Donald was named SEC Men's Diver of the Week, while Aleksas Savickas and Zoe Dixon earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors.
Donald is the third Gator men's diver to win the award this season, joining Anton Svirskyi and Elisha Dees. From The Woodlands, Texas, Donald placed first at both the 1-meter with a 340.43 and 3-meter with a 362.85 against Georgia.
Savickas and Dixon are the second Florida freshman duo to claim Freshman of the Week honors, joining Joshua Liendo and Hayden Miller, who both have done it twice. Savickas finished on top of the podium in three events last Saturday against Georgia, winning the 100 breast, 200 breast, and was a member of the winning 400 medley relay team. Dixon won the 200 back with a 1:56.00, and followed it up with a second-place finish in the 400 IM and a third-place finish in the 200 fly.
Florida returns home to the O'Connell Center on Saturday, Nov. 5 when the Gators host No. 13/7 Tennessee at 10 a.m.
