Gators in the NFL: Week 13

Gators in the league are helping their teams fight for the playoffs.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The home stretch of the NFL season is here as Gators in the league are helping their teams fight for the playoffs.

Offensive Highlights
Sunday night was a night Cowboys running back Malik Davis will never forget.

On Sunday Night Football, Davis found the endzone for the first time in his young career.

Entering the game late to extend the lead, Davis did just that with a gorgeous one-cut run to put his Cowboys over 50 points on the night.

The 23-yard scamper was also the longest of his young career. The rookie will aim to build momentum from his first score as he and the 9-3 Cowboys push for the playoffs.

Rams wide receiver, running back, punt returner, kick returner, whatever you want to call him Brandon Powell is the definition of a swiss army knife.

Powell did it all for the Rams Sunday racking up 109 all-purpose yards. Here's how Powell gained all of those yards on busy day at the office:
  • 45 yards on three carries
  • 39 yards on four receptions
  • 17 yards on one kick return
  • 8 yards on one punt return
Folks, Brandon Powell can simply do it all – and that's something he showed off weekly in the Orange and Blue.

Defensive Highlights
Chiefs defensive end Carlos Dunlap, the ultimate play-maker, was sure to make a play against his long-time former team.

Dunlap, now on his third team in his 13th season, made countless plays as a Bengal across 11 seasons in Cincinnati.

Dunlap made yet another play in Cincy, but this time on the opposite sideline with Kansas City.

Late in the second half with his team down four, Dunlap kept it close with a huge 4th down stop. He burst into the backfield, taking down Bengals receiver Trent Taylor for a huge loss on the jet sweep.

With four sacks and five tackles for loss on the year, Dunlap continues to make big plays in big moments when it matters most.

Detroit Lions linebacker Alex Anzalone has a nose for the football. For the second-straight week, Anzalone logged a big turnover for his team.

With the ball on the ground, Anzalone said see ball, get ball, jumping head-first into the scrum to grab his team possession and momentum, setting the tone early.

Anzalone and the Lions did not look back, cruising past Jacksonville 40-14. Anzalone's 92 total tackles this season leads the team and are top-20 in the league.
