
Aggies Even Series with No. 5 Gators

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The fifth-ranked Florida softball team fell, 5-0, in the second game of the series Saturday afternoon against Texas A&M at Davis Diamond. The two teams will play for the series Sunday afternoon at 12 p.m. CT/1 p.m. ET on SEC Network +.
Sophomore Katie Kistler went 2-for-2 at the plate for the Gators (24-3, 3-2 SEC), while freshman Sam Roe went 1-for-1 and the Aggies (17-9, 1-4 SEC) collected five total hits in the contest.
Texas A&M was able to produce four runs to take an early 4-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning of play via a pair of walks and two timely hits, which included a two-out grand slam by Shaylee Ackerman.
From the 2nd inning to the 4th inning, the Gators and the Aggies were locked into a pitchers' duel between Orange & Blue hurlers Natalie Lugo (5-2), Lexie Delbrey, Rylee Trlicek and Aggies starter Makinzy Herzog (5-1).
Florida threatened in the top of the 5th inning of play when Sam Roe and Katie Kistler squared up back-to-back base hits off Herzog, but the senior hurler was able to thwart the effort and get out of the inning unharmed.
The Aggies went to tack on an additional run in the home half of the 5th inning and closed out the scoring via a Rylen Wiggins RBI double to right center field that scored pinch-runner Alexis Tippit.

- Freshman Kendra Falby stole her 21st base of the season in the top of the 1st inning after she drew a walk to leadoff the game.
- She is now tied for the team lead in stolen bases with Skylar Wallace.
- Falby entered the week ranked 7th nationally and 2nd in the SEC in the category.
- Sophomore Katie Kistler tallied her fourth multi-hit game of the season as she was 2-for-2 in today's game.
