Carter's Corner: Newest Members of Gators' Staff In Spotlight
Friday, March 25, 2022 | Football, Scott Carter
Florida has nine practices remaining until capping spring camp with the Orange & Blue Game on the night of Thursday, April 14.
The biggest news out of camp so far has been quarterback Emory Jones announcing that he is entering the transfer portal, and head coach Billy Napier announcing a change in the date of the spring game to own the SEC Network spotlight and capitalize on recruiting efforts.
Otherwise, this spring has been about new faces in new places. Napier's expanded staff includes some familiar names and many not-so-familiar names to Gators fans. The media and fans have gotten to know more of the football staff over the past several days, including defensive assistant Corey Raymond on Thursday.
Raymond is a veteran assistant who came to UF from LSU, where he coached some of the country's top defensive backs and developed a reputation as a first-rate recruiter.
Check out Raymond's interview with the media below:
Meanwhile, here are more headlines and tidbits from Florida's first spring camp under Napier:
