
Florida Track and Field Set for Tom Jones Memorial This Weekend

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Following a busy start to the season, the Gators got last weekend off from competition as the outdoor campaign kicks into high gear.
Florida will return to the track this week as some of the nation's best teams come to Gainesville for the Tom Jones Memorial on Friday and Saturday.
Joining the Gators this weekend includes Georgia, NC A&T, LSU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Clemson and Florida State.
This weekend's action will begin at 2:30 p.m. EST on Friday with the Men's Discus. Saturday's action will begin at 12:00 p.m. with the women's 100-meter hurdles and end with the men's 4x400 relay.
Florida will also honor 21 seniors during the final home meet of the season with ceremonies on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.
Women:
The No. 3 women's track and field team will see a handful of athletes make their outdoor season debuts in their primary event this weekend.
After running one of the top 200-meter times in the nation this season, Talitha Diggs will enter into a talented field in the 400 meters on Saturday.
The 2022 NCAA Indoor Champion in the 400 meters finished second outdoors at the NCAA Championships last season as a freshman. She currently holds the second-fastest time (50.74) in program history in the event.
Jasmine Moore will make her way into the Triple Jump field for the first time since winning the National Championship during the indoor season.
The Indoor Collegiate Record Holder in the event, Moore will feature alongside teammate and NCAA-leader Natricia Hooper in the Triple Jump on Saturday afternoon.
Moore competed in the Long Jump at the Texas Relays and Pepsi Florida Relays and holds the fourth-best mark in the nation (6.75m/22-1.75) so far this season.
Gabrielle Wilkinson will make her first appearance on the track since running in the 800 meters and DMR at the SEC Indoor Championships in February.
She will race the 800 meters alongside teammate and NCAA-leader Imogen Barrett to open up her outdoor campaign.
Wilkinson finished her 2021 season as the SEC Champion in the 1500 meters and recorded a third-place finish in the 800 meters at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Grace Stark will be among the featured stars in the 100-meter hurdles on Saturday afternoon. She opened the season in 12.99 at the Pepsi Florida Relays despite battling rainy conditions during the race.
Claire Bryant will double in both the Long Jump and High Jump while Barrett will double in the 800 meters and 1500 meters. Barrett is also scheduled to anchor the 4x400 relay.
Vanessa Watson will race in the 400-meter hurdles and 4x400 relay while Sterling Lester features in four events in her preparation for the Heptathlon competition at the SEC Outdoor Championships.
There are 25 women scheduled to compete for the Gators this weekend.
Men:

Florida will bring a loaded field of entries into both the 800 meters and 100 meters as the outdoor season kicks into high gear.
Tyler Davis, Joseph Fahnbulleh, Jacory Patterson and Dedrick Vanover are all set to compete in the 100 meters while also making up Florida's 4x100 team this weekend.
The Gators currently own the fastest 4x100 time in the world when they ran 38.47 in the finals of the Texas Relays.
Ryan Willie will make his outdoor season debut in the 400 meters. He finished sixth at the NCAA Outdoor Championships last year in the event and was fourth at this year's NCAA Indoor Championships.
Malcolm Clemons, Jalen Chance and Caleb Foster will feature in what should be a talented Long Jump competition.
Foster will also compete in the 110-meter hurdles.
Sam Austin will run in the 800 meters. He owns the 12th-fastest time in the nation this season and will feature alongside teammates Joe Wester, Chase Ruskin, Caden Monk and more.
Zach Godbold and Mark Porter will throw the javelin while Edward Shelikoff looks to continue his strong start to the season in the discus.
For the first time this outdoor season, the Gators are scheduled to run the 4x400 team of Jacory Patterson, Ryan Willie, Jacob Miley and Champion Allison.
There are 41 men scheduled to compete for Florida this season.
The 4x400 will close out what is expected to be a high-quality meet full of some of the nation's finest talent.
