GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Heading into the final weekend of regular season action, the Florida men's and women's track and field teams sit No. 3 in the Outdoor Ratings Index as announced by the USTFCCCA on Monday afternoon.
Florida's women continue their streak of being ranked in the top-5 of every single poll this season while the men find themselves in the top-5 for a fourth-consecutive week.
The Gators will split athletes between the LSU Invitational (Sprints/Jumps) and the North Florida Invitational (Throws/Distance) this weekend as the calendar inches closer to postseason action during the outdoor season.
Florida continues to lead the nation in both relays on the men's side. The Gators have run two of the top three times in the nation this season in the 4x100 relay.
At the Texas Relays in late March, the team of Dedrick Vanover, Tyler Davis, PJ Austin and Joseph Fahnbulleh ran 38.47 to set the NCAA lead. That mark has yet to be surpassed so far in the season.
In the final event of the Tom Jones Memorial, Florida set an NCAA lead and a collegiate record in the 4x400 relay after running 2:58.53.
The team of Jacory Patterson, Ryan Willie, Jacob Miley and Champion Allison became the first collegiate quartet to ever run the relay in under 2:59.00.
Ryan Willie also holds the SEC lead in the 400 meters after running 45.16 at the Tom Jones Memorial.
Jasmine Moore (14.07m) and Natricia Hooper (14.03m) sit 1-2 collegiately in the Triple Jump after passing the 14-meter mark at the Tom Jones Memorial.
The duo is the only pair of collegiates to break 14-meters in the women's triple jump this season with both of them doing it indoors and outdoors.
Grace Stark sits third collegiately in the 100-meter hurdles after an outstanding 12.58 at the Tom Jones Memorial. Her school-record time is also the top wind-legal time in the NCAA this season.
The Gators will get underway this weekend on Friday and Saturday at the North Florida Invitational before an all-day affair at the LSU Invitational on Saturday.
