While they will have to wait an extra day to try and carry over their momentum, the Gators benefited from a sensational pitching performance from sophomore right-handed pitcher Brandon Sproat on Tuesday night to get past South Carolina with a 2-1 victory. Sproat fired 8 1/3 innings of one-run ball while striking out seven Gamecocks.
In the end, third baseman Colby Halter came through with the walk-off sacrifice fly to plate Ty Evans in the bottom of the tenth inning. With the victory, Florida improved to 72-66 all-time at the SEC Tournament.
