Yuxin Lin led the way for the Gators with a 74 (+4) as Florida is six strokes back from the top-15.
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - The Florida men's golf team completed round one of the NCAA Championships on Friday at Grayhawk Golf Club.
The Gators finished tied for 24th and are six strokes back from the first cut on Sunday of the top-15 teams. No team shot under-par as Vanderbilt leads at +2 and the lowest round of the day was 2-under as only seven total rounds went under.
Yuxin Lin (T62) was the top finisher in the lineup at 74 (+4) as he started his round with seven consecutive pars followed by a birdie on 16 for the first of the day for Florida. The round was three strokes away from his career-best at the NCAA Championships he set in round two last year.
Fred Biondi and John DuBois both shot 75s (+5) to end tied for 82nd. Biondi ended second on the team with two birdies as he sank them on holes two and four as DuBois was tied for third among the field with the 13 pars.
After finishing 5-over on the back, Quentin Debove sank a team-leading three birdies on the front and was 1-over to end with a 76 (+6) . Ricky Castillo rounded out the lineup with an 81 (+11).
UF tees off tomorrow at 10:05 a.m. ET on hole one with Texas and Texas Tech .
