Boszormenyi, Duruji Named as Brad Davis SEC Community Service Award Winners

The Southeastern Conference announced each of its 14 member institutions' 2021-22 Brad David Community Service Award Winners on Thursday.
Boszormenyi totaled 223.5 hours of community service, assisting with a number of organizations in the Gainesville area. She registered 180 hours at the Hungarian Club as an organizer, planning different social events and meetings to increase a sense of belonging within the university campus. Boszormenyi also served as a childcare mentor at the YMCA, leading elementary children through exercise routines, while promoting fitness and wellness. Additionally, Boszormenyi volunteered for numerous opportunities through Goodwill Gators, including Climb for Cancer, Gators Tracks, visits to Shands Hospital, Trunk or Treat, welcome parties at local elementary schools, as well as many others.
As a member of the women's swimming & diving team, Boszormenyi made a trip to the SEC Championships during her rookie season, racing in three events. During her senior season in the 2020-21 campaign, she registered seven Top-10 finishes, including a third-place finish in the 100 back against Miami. Internationally, she has tallied 50 medals at the Hungarian National Swimming Championships, including one silver and one bronze medal during the 2020 Championships.
Duruji was involved with Goodwill Gators, Team Impact, the Black Student-Athlete Council and the SEC Men's Basketball Leadership Council.
Duruji contributed to numerous causes during his time at Florida, including 29.5 hours as a volunteer with the Goodwill Gators program. While volunteering with the Goodwill Gators, he assisted in assembling food for families affected by the COVID pandemic, mentored students at local elementary schools and played an instrumental role in the men's basketball team adopting their Team Impact child, Eli. Duruji was also an integral member of the Black Student-Athlete Council, in which he attended biweekly meetings to discuss issues around the country and on campus pertaining race and being a black student athlete. He was also a member of the SEC Men's Basketball Leadership Council, where he discussed changes around the SEC and what that would look like for the league, along with discussing the issues/concerns of student-athletes on campus.
During his two seasons on the court with Florida, Duruji totaled 409 points and 231 rebounds in 55 appearances. In his senior season, he averaged 8.6 points per game and 4.1 rebounds per game, including a UF-high 22 points and a career-high five steals vs. Mississippi State. Overall in his career, he tallied 1,041 career points and 565 rebounds between his time at Florida and Louisiana Tech.
The school winners will each receive a $5,000 post-graduate scholarship provided by the SEC to be used within five academic years of receipt of the award.
The SEC Community Service Post-Graduate Scholarship is named for former Associate Commissioner Brad Davis. Davis succumbed to cancer on March 2, 2006. He had been a member of the SEC staff since 1988, first serving as an assistant commissioner until 1994 when he was promoted to associate commissioner.
2021-22 Female Brad Davis SEC Community Service Award Winners:
The male and female Community Service Leaders of the Year, to be announced later in May, will each receive a $10,000 post-graduate scholarship, provided by the SEC.
This is the 27th year that the SEC Brad Davis Leaders of the Year award has existed. A Florida student-athlete has claimed the overall award five times.
