Two Gators Compete in FINA Open Water 5k

Brennan Gravley places 10th; Anna Auld finishes 20th
BUDAPEST, Hungary – Florida's Brennan Gravley and Anna Auld both competed in Monday morning's open water 5k on Day 10 of the FINA World Championships. Gravley participated in his second event in as many days after swimming the third leg in the open water 4x1,500m relay yesterday, while Auld made her 2022 FINA World Championship debut.
Men's Open Water 5k
Brennan Gravley secured a 10th place finish in the open water 5k, recording a time of 54:28.40. Gravely had the best finish by an American, and is set to race in the open water 10k on Wednesday.
Women's Open Water 5k
In the women's open water 5k, Anna Auld posted a time of 1:00:57.20 to finish 20th. Auld entered the final lap in 28th, ascending into to the top-20 with a strong final push.
Mixed 4x1,500m Relay
In yesterday's mixed 4x1,500m relay, Gravley split his third leg of the relay at 15:58.50, as team USA finished seventh out of 19 teams at 1:05:50.50.
Wednesday's open water 10k is set to begin with the women at 2 a.m. ET followed by the men at 6 a.m. ET.
