Tylor Mathieu Named to 2022 Duel in the Pool Roster

Tylor Mathieu will represent Team USA in Sydney, Australia next month

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – University of Florida swimmer Tylor Mathieu will represent the U.S. at the reintroduced Duel in the Pool in Sydney, Australia from August 19-21, USA Swimming announced.

The Duel in the Pool competition was established in 2003 with the United States competing against Australia. The two countries have previously competed in 2003, 2005, and 2007.

Team USA's roster consists of a combination of NCAA and professional swimmers, as well as one high school swimmer. This year's Duel in the Pool will also include para swimming events for the first time.

In her junior campaign last year, Mathieu set career-bests in the 500 free and 1650 free at the NCAA Championships, taking home a pair of top-15 finishes. The Hebron, Connecticut native has also been named to the CSCAA Scholar Teams multiple times.

The duel will hold pool events at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Center, while the open water events will be at Bondi Beach, and run from August 19-21.
