GAINESVILLE, Fla. - D1Baseball has ranked the Florida baseball team's 2022-23 freshman class at No. 5 in the country, as unveiled in the publication's top-25 rookie classes in the sport.
Just last week, the Gators' transfer class came in at No. 7 according to D1Baseball, creating a formidable combination of newcomers on the 2023 roster.
Comprised of nine players, Florida's freshman class features a pair of two-way talents, two pitchers and five positional players. The Gators' full 2022-23 freshman class can be found below.
In addition to the new faces on the roster, Florida returns 23 players including six positional starters from the 2022 campaign. That group powered the Orange & Blue to a 42-24 (15-15 SEC) record one year ago while hosting the program's 18th NCAA Regional.
Florida's 2023 season officially opens at home on Friday, Feb. 17 with the first of three games in a weekend series against Charleston Southern. Fans will have plenty of opportunities to cheer on the Gators at Condron Family Ballpark, as 20 of Florida's first-22 games take place at home.
