First-year UF coach Todd Golden has led the Gators to five wins over the last six games.
Charting the Gators: SEC 1st-Year Coach Watch

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — After a rare run of two consecutive seasons without any coaching changes in men's basketball, the Southeastern Conference underwent significant transition last spring when six different programs made moves. Five by administrative choice, one by the coach.
So far, advantage Gator guy.
With Wednesday night's 81-60 victory over South Carolina, Todd Golden became the first of those six first-year coaches to face all five of the other newbies and has a 5-0 record to show for it, with a couple more matchups down the line. Yes, there's a lot of basketball left to be played in 2023, and a lot for these half-dozen men at their new locales beyond '23, but Golden and the Gators appear to be improving and coming together on the first-year fly, with five wins in the last six games, albeit with the meat of their schedule dead ahead.
Here's a snapshot of how the six new coaches have fared to date, both against the conference and each other. It's worth noting that a couple names on the list were reportedly among potential candidates for Florida job that ultimately went to Golden, 37, by way of the University of San Francisco.
