GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida football team will wear alternate black uniforms for the first time in school history when they take on Arkansas on Nov. 4, and Gators fans can commemorate the occasion
by purchasing their own replica black Gators helmets.
The helmets are
on sale now here.
For fans looking for more exclusive options: A limited amount of team-issued jerseys and team-issued helmets will be auctioned. The auction begins Oct. 30 on Fanatics.com, and fans will receive the merchandise after the game has been played.
The black uniforms will be worn during this year's
'Saluting Those Who Serve' game, presented by VyStar Credit Union.
In recognition of the teamwork spirit and the core values that characterize military members and first responders, each player's nameplate on the back of their jersey will display one of five words that are synonymous with the principles embodied by those who serve.
The five terms, which were selected by a representative of each branch of the military and first responders, are Honor, Courage, Commitment, Excellence and Integrity.
Fans can gear up for game day by purchasing the official black alternate jersey and other sideline apparel
here.
The Nov. 4 matchup will mark the 13th meeting between Florida and Arkansas. The schools last met in 2020 when the Gators downed the Razorbacks 63-35 in the Swamp. UF leads the series 10-2.
