Jordan Castell Named to ESPN’s College Football 2023 Freshman All-America Team

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Gator freshman safety Jordan Castell has been named as a member of ESPN's College Football 2023 Freshman All-America Team as announced by ESPN on December 14.
Just over a week ago, Castell was slated as both a member of the Freshman All-SEC Team and College Football Network Freshman All-America Team.
In just his first season with the Gators, the Orlando native played in all 12 Gator games and recorded starts in the last 11. In said 12 contests, Castell led the team in total tackles (60) and solo tackles (30) with 1.5 tackles for loss, three pass breakups and interception.
Castell was the highest graded run defender (77.1), of qualifying players, for the Gators this past season.
The freshman totaled 10+ tackles in two games during 2023 the first of which came in the Gators week three victory over No. 11 Tennessee in which Castell secured ten tackles and was named SEC Freshman of the Week and Shaun Alexander National Freshman of the Week. He also notched eleven tackles in the Gators overtime loss to Arkansas.
