Gators in the NFL: week 16

Special Teams delivered some incredible gifts this holiday weekend.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Week 16 in the NFL for the gators was not unlike the week had by the rest of the country. As people exchanged gifts, saw family, and decorated their homes, former gators exchanged touchdowns, saw the opponent in the rear-view, and decorated their NFL resume's. Here are all of the best plays by former Gators from this especially festive weekend of NFL play.

Offensive Highlights
Demarcus Robinson continued his resurgent eight season with another incredible game on Thursday, making six receptions for 83 yards, both season highs. His 14.0 average yards per reception now match his career high set with Kansas City in 2019. His 32-yard reception was also is season high, and his longest reception since week six of 2021. He's collected a touchdown in four consecutive games, hauling this one in to extend the lead over New Orleans before the half.

Kyle Pitts also reached the goal line this weekend, tying up the game with Indianapolis in the first quarter with this 24-yard reception. With this TD, Pitts has set his new career high in touchdowns in a season at 3

Special Teams Highlights
Dameon Pierce has never been a kick returner. He didn't receive a kick at Florida, and he hadn't received a single kick in 24 career NFL games. But this Sunday, on just his second career return, he did this…

Pierce's 98-yard return was the second longest return this season by any player, and just the third kick return TD this season.

Tommy Townsend is known for his booming kicks, but his lesser-known talents include QB1-caliber throws. Townsend's 11-yard completion and first down gave him a 112.5 passer rating, notably almost 40 points higher than the second-best Chiefs quarterback.
