Gators Conclude Season in Raleigh

The Florida women's golf team finished 8th at the NCAA Regionals on Wednesday. 
Raleigh, N.C. - The Florida women's golf team concluded its 2022-23 season at the Raleigh Regional on Wednesday. 

The Gators entered the day five strokes from the top-5 54-hole cut to advance to the National Championships next week. After a bumpy start on the back nine, Florida made the turn to the front and shot -4, a 15 shot improvement from the first nine. UF got it down to eight strokes on multiple occasions, but fell below the cut line and finished eighth. 

Maisie Filler and Jackie Lucena led the charge as both went birdie-birdie to start on one (par-5, 507) and two (par-3, 181). Filler recorded another pair with back-to-back on four and five, both par-4s. She then added her fifth of the day on seven and was -5 through the first seven holes on the front at Lonnie Poole Golf Course. The junior shot her second 71 (-1) of the week to finish T24.

Lucena snagged her third birdie on four to go -1 on the front nine for a team-best T14 performance.  

Playing in her final collegiate round, Jenny Kim bounced back after three bogeys in the first four holes and went bogey-free 1-under on the final nine holes. She turned in a 74 (+2) today. 

Rounding out the Florida lineup in round three was Marina Escobar (T33) and Annabell Fuller (T40) with rounds of 76 (+4).
