GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Five members of the Florida lacrosse team added to their postseason resumes on Thursday, as the IWLCA announced its All-Region Teams. Those five will now be eligible to be named to a national IWLCA All-American Team.
Florida's All-South Region First Team selections consisted of Emily Heller, Emma LoPinto and Sarah Reznick. LoPinto was just one of three sophomores who earned a spot on the First Team.
This was the third All-Region honor for Reznick, while Heller and LoPinto each picked up the second honor of their careers.
Becky Browndorf and Maggi Hall were each named to the All-South Region Second Team – the first collegiate All-Region honor for each of them.
The Gators are 16-3 thus far in the 2023 campaign, having clinched the American Athletic Conference Tournament Championship on May 6, defeating then-No. 6 James Madison. Florida has won 11-straight games heading into the NCAA Tournament.
UF is set to kick off its postseason run, hosting the First and Second Rounds of the NCAA Tournament. The Gators take on the Jacksonville Dolphins – who are receiving votes in the Top-25 poll – on Friday at 4 p.m. on ESPN+.
Florida' s five All-South nominees will now await IWLCA All-American selections on May 25.
