
Gators Football Set Team Record, Earn 3.30 Semester GPA

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida football team set a new squad record, earning a 3.30 team GPA for the 2023 Spring semester, it was announced Friday.
Eighty-five players earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher, including nine 4.0s.
The team's success was on display earlier this month in the latest Academic Progress Rate (APR), as the NCAA announced May 2 that the Gators football team earned a score of 977. That scored graded notably higher than the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) national average of 968.
The Gators also set a new league record last fall when 62 Florida football players were named to the 2022 Southeastern Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll.
Football is one of 17 Florida programs to earn above a 3.0.
As a whole, Gators Athletics also set an all-time semester GPA high for Florida student-athletes, earning an overall grade point average of 3.33.
