Florida Alumni Team Gataverse Set to Compete in TBT

For the first time, a team of Florida alumni will compete in The Basketball Tournament (TBT), the $1 million winner-take-all summer basketball event. The team, dubbed Gataverse, will open play in the Louisville regional against Shell Shock (Maryland alumni) on Tuesday, July 25, a 4 p.m.
The current roster includes KeVaughn Allen, Corey Brewer, Phlandrous Fleming Jr., Taurean Green, Walter Hodge, Lee Humphrey, Myreon Jones, Egor Koulechov, Keith Stone and Erving Walker. Former Florida assistant Matt McCall, who spent time as head coach at UMass and Chattanooga, will serve as the team's coach.
Fans will have a chance to see the team of Gator alumni over the years compete at an exhibition game on July 22 at 5 p.m. at Santa Fe College.
Gataverse is one of eight teams in the Louisville regional, which will take place at Freedom Hall. A potential second-round game would be on July 27 at 6 p.m., and the regional championship on July 29 at noon. The Louisville regional winner will face the Lubbock Regional winner on Monday, July 31. The semifinals and winner-take-all championship game will be August 2 and 3 in Philadelphia at the Daskalakis Athletic Center.
