The 2023 NCAA Champions tied its program record with nine earning conference academic recognition.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The 2023 NCAA Champion Florida men's golf team also captured success in the classroom by tying its program record of nine student-athletes selected to the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll.
The 2023 NCAA Individual Champion, Fred Biondi, headlined the ennead with earning the honor for the fourth time in his career. John DuBois and Quentin Debove both received their degrees this spring and collected the honor roll nod for the third time.
Ryan Hart, Giovanni Manzoni and Tyler Wilkes added the award in back-to-back seasons as Matthew Kress (First-Year last year), Miguel Leal and Joe Pagdin all were earned the honor for the first time.
The nine selections total 53 SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll under head coach J.C. Deacon and marks the fifth straight year with at least five student-athletes earning recognition.
The 2023 SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2022-23 summer, fall and spring terms. Florida placed 322 student-athletes on 2022-23 SEC Fall (113), Winter (72) and Spring Academic Honor Rolls.
To be recognized to the SEC Academic Honor Roll, each student-athlete must 1) have a GPA of 3.00 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; 2) be on scholarship, a letterwinner or have participated on a varsity team for two years if non-scholarship; 3) have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and 4) have been a member of the varsity team for the sport's entire NCAA Championship segment.
