Eguakun, Marshall Jr, Pearsall to Represent Gators at SEC Media Days

The trio and head coach Billy Napier will make their appearance on Wednesday, July 19 at 1 p.m. CT / 2 p.m. ET in Nashville. 
 
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Florida football players Kingsley Eguakun, Jason Marshall Jr. and Ricky Pearsall will represent the Gators at SEC Media Days along with head coach Billy Napier on Wednesday, July 19.
 
Florida will make its appearance at 1 p.m. CT / 2 p.m. ET in Nashville along side Alabama, Arkansas and Kentucky on the same day.

A two-year starter at center, Eguakun has appeared in 40 career games (26 starts) for the Gators. He helped anchor a line last year that was the third-most productive offense in the nation and best in the conference in yards per carry (5.84). Florida ran the ball for an average of 213.7 yards per game in 2022, which ranked 16th in the FBS and third in the SEC. Eguakun and the line only allowed 13 sacks in the regular season, tied for second-fewest in the SEC and 16th in the FBS. A three-time SEC Academic Honor Roll member, he earned his degree in criminology this past fall.
 
Jason Marshall Jr. | Cornerback | Junior / 3rd season) | Miami, Fla.
 
Playing in all 26 games with 19 starts, Marshall led the team with nine pass breakups and did not allow a touchdown in 336 coverage snaps last year. He had two games last season where he posted two pass breakups and finished with one in the last three games. The Miami native was recently projected to be a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL draft by ESPN. Marshall has also received preseason All-SEC honors from Athlon and Phil Steele.  
 
Ricky Pearsall | Wide Receiver | Senior / 5th season) | Chandler, Ariz.
 
Pearsall joined the Gators last season after three years at Arizona State (2019-21) where he appeared in 30 games with 11 starts. He played in all 13 games (10 starts) last year and led the Gators in receiving yards (661) and touchdowns (5). The 2022-23 SEC First Year Academic Honor Roll member also led the SEC in the yards per catch (20.0), which ranked 4th in the FBS and is third all-time in program history in a season. Out of his 33 receptions, 27 of them went for first downs while 28 were for double digits. At No. 16 Florida State, he caught five passes for a career-high 148 yards and two touchdowns. Pearsall had another 100-yard game at No. 11 Tennessee. On the ground, he ran for a 76-yard touchdown, which was the longest rush by an FBS wide receiver last year and t-10th in the FBS across the last five years; third-longest by a Florida WR in the last 25 years.
