Baseball Announces 2023 Summer League Assignments

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida baseball program released its list of 2023 summer league baseball assignments on Thursday.
Nine Gators are set to compete across various developmental summer leagues such as the Cape Cod Baseball League and Coastal Plains League in addition to participation with USA Baseball.
The All-American duo of first baseman/left-handed pitcher Jac Caglianone and right-hander Brandon Neely are both suiting up for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team. Neely is one of five USA pitchers to have already made two appearances, owning three no-hit innings with six strikeouts. Caglianone has made five starts and owns one homer and three RBI through his first 16 at bats.
Five Gators can be found on Cape League rosters, which is widely regarded as the top developmental summer league in the country for collegiate student-athletes. Catcher/first baseman Luke Heyman is a member of the Falmouth Commodores while righty Fisher Jameson and outfielder Michael Robertson will play for the Brewster Whitecaps. Additionally, outfielder Ty Evans is a New Orleans Firebird and righty Blake Purnell is a Harwich Mariner.
There will be one Gator competing in both the Coastal Plains League and Florida League. Jake Clemente will lace up the spikes for the Peninsula Pilots of the Valley League while Dale Thomas is on the Orlando Snappers roster.
