GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida softball Head Coach Tim Walton announced the addition of transfer Brooke Barnard to the program Thursday afternoon. Barnard competed at Ole Miss during the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
"We are happy that Brooke chose to be a part of our program here at Florida," Walton said. "She is a very versatile player and we look forward to working with her to help her achieve her goals both on and off the field."
Barnard saw action in 74 games throughout her two seasons with the Rebels and was named to the 2022 SEC First Year Academic Honor Roll. She holds a career .257 average (9-for-35) at the plate that includes four extra-base hits, two walks and seven stolen bases. Academically, she also appeared on the Dean's List during the fall semester in 2021 and 2022.
During her sophomore season in 2023, Barnard notched a .333 batting average in limited action at the plate with a double, triple, a home run to go along with nine RBI and six runs scored.
Prior to Ole Miss, the Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. native helped Palm Beach Gardens High School to a pair of district championships in 2018 & 2019 and was named all-state, all-county and all-district during those two seasons.
In 2021, she earned Palm Beach 7A-6A Player of the Year honors as she helped lead her high school to a third district championship, berth to the regional semifinals and was also selected to compete in the PGF All-American Game.
