Press Conference | Gators Dial in on Utah, Napier Discusses Matchup & More

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Gators open the season in six days when they play at No. 14-ranked Utah.
UF head coach Billy Napier met with the media late Friday morning to discuss the matchup, a rematch of his first game as Florida's head coach in 2022. The Gators beat the Utes 29-26 and Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
Napier expects another difficult challenge, this time on the road in front of a sold-out hostile crowd.
"A very formidable opponent,'' Napier said Friday. "This is the Pac-12 champ back-to-back years, and certainly a ton of respect for Coach [Kyle] Whittingham ... just the brand of football. Certainly last year was a heck of a football game. But they definitely have an identity, and it's one of the reasons why they've been able to perform with consistency and be a contender year in, year out."
