GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The reigning SEC Champion Florida Gators baseball team will officially begin fall practice on Sunday, Oct. 8 at 5 p.m. at Condron Family Ballpark with the gates open to all fans.
Highlighting this year's fall slate is the annual Florida vs. Georgia exhibition at 121 Financial Ballpark in Jacksonville, as announced by the City of Jacksonville and ASM-Global Jacksonville on Monday. Scheduled for Friday, Oct. 27 at 6:30 p.m., the meeting marks the third-straight year of fall competition between the Gators and Bulldogs and the fourth matchup in the last five falls (2019, 2021-23). As the home team in 2023, Florida will look to add its third victory in the series after coming out on top in 2019 and 2022.
Tickets for the fall Florida-Georgia baseball game cost $15 apiece and are officially on sale now. This year's exhibition game will feature a 90's themed concert on the field, with performances by Vanilla Ice, Young MC, Montell Jordan and Tone Loc. The concert will take place directly following the end of the exhibition game. Exhibition game tickets will grant access to the concert.
Additionally, the Gators host Stetson in a doubleheader on Sunday, Nov. 5 beginning at 2 p.m. at Condron Family Ballpark. Admission is free, staying consistent with the practice policy for the entire fall. Florida's fall season will conclude with the Orange & Blue World Series from Nov. 10-12.
More information regarding the Florida vs. Stetson doubleheader and Orange & Blue World Series will be announced at a later date.
Florida returns 14 players from the 2023 NCAA Runner-Up squad including positional starters Jac Caglianone, Cade Kurland, Luke Heyman, Tyler Shelnut and Ty Evans in addition to returning contributors Michael Robertson and Dale Thomas. Along with All-American Brandon Neely and Freshman All-American Cade Fisher, Caglianone slots back into a talented pitching staff that welcomes the returns of Ryan Slater, Blake Purnell and Fisher Jameson. A deep class of 22 newcomers bolsters the 2024 roster, anchored by seven transfers as the Gators look to make a repeat trip to the College World Series.
