Former Gators Came to Play in Second Round of NFL Playoffs
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Sixteen former Gators represented the Orange and Blue this weekend in the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs.
Offensive Highlights
Offensive Lineman are people too. Former Gator and rookie guard O'Cyruss Torrence made headlines this week for being the only member of the Bills to play every single snap (1,164) this season. Torrence's season performance earned him a spot on the 2023 NFL All-Rookie Team.
Defensive Highlights
Former Gators defenders started the week off strong in the form of third- and fourth-year pass rushers T.J. Slaton and Jonathan Greenard. Slaton recorded four tackles (three SOLO) in the Packers hard fought loss to the 49ers. Greenard finished his season with a solid performance where the defensive end accumulated four tackles (three SOLO) and a tackle-for-loss.
Alex Anzalone and C.J. Gardner-Johnson once again put on a show in Detroit. Anzalone finished the game with six tackles (five SOLO) and Gardner-Johnson was all over the field with a stat line of one tackle (one SOLO) one pass-break-up and an interception. The former Gator greats will play against San Francisco in the NFC Championship game next week. This marks the first title game berth for the Lions since 1991.
