GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Five Florida Gators are heading to the Super Bowl on February 11, when the Kansas City Chiefs will take on the San Francisco 49ers. The Gators streak of 22 consecutive years with a player in the Super Bowl is the third longest active streak for an SEC team.Â

For the last time this year we get to talk about C.J. Gardner-Johnson and Alex Anzalone as the Lions fell to the Niners in the NFC Title Game. Anzalone put together another strong performance, as the linebacker racked up nine total tackles (eight SOLO) and a QB hit. Gardner-Johnson recorded four total tackles in the outing.

Tommy Townsend recorded his second-most punt yards in a single-game this season, with 279 total yards. He also tied his season high in punts with six . Townsend's total punts and total yards in this game becomes his highest totals in his postseason career.Â
Super Bowl Game Notes
Tommy Townsend and Kadarius Toney have a chance to become only the third and fourth Florida players ever to win back to back Super Bowl's. Both players were on the Chiefs Super Bowl winning roster last season with Toney recording one catch for five yards and a touchdown and Townsend having two punts for 98 yards. Toney also had a 65-yard punt return which set-up a touchdown for KC propelling them to the Super Bowl victory.Â
