Florida Volleyball Hosts Mississippi State and South Carolina to Conclude Four-Match Homestand

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – After rescheduling Wednesday matchup versus Mississippi State to Friday due to Hurricane Milton, the No. 19 Florida volleyball team wraps up their four-match homestand this weekend, welcoming both Mississippi State and South Carolina to Gainesville. Florida looks to go 2-0 after losing their last two Conference matches to No. 13 Kentucky and No. 7 Texas.
Friday's match is slated for 7 p.m. and Sunday's first serve is set for 1 p.m. Both matches will be televised on SEC Network+. Tom Collett and former Florida All-American setter Missy Whittemore will be on the call Friday, while Tom Collett and former Gator middle blocker Darrielle King will be on the broadcast for Sunday. - Florida's front row has seen versatile attacking from all positions at the net. - SHE'S BAAAAAACK
- Gator fans rose to their feet at the start of the third set of Florida's match vs. North Texas on Sept. 20 when Alexis Stucky made her return for the Orange and Blue after suffering a year-long ACL injury. The 2022 AVCA Southeast Freshman of the Year and SEC Freshman of the Year went down against then No. 1 Wisconsin on Sept. 17, 2023 and would not return for the rest of the 2023 season. Since then, the redshirt sophomore has totaled 124 assists, 27 digs, eight blocks, 12 kills and seven aces in five matches.
- POY WATCH FOR MARTIN DUO
- Isabel Martin and Kennedy Martin were named to AVCA's 2024 Division I Player of the Year Award Watch List presented by Nike Volleyball on Sept. 18. The sophomore was a 2023 2nd Team All-American, while the redshirt senior earned 2023 Honorable Mention. The pair is part of the inaugural list that includes 36 players from 21 schools The 2024 AVCA Player of the Year will be announced on Friday, Dec. 20, in Louisville, Ky., during the AVCA Convention.
- IMMEDIATE IMPACT
- Six of Florida's fresh faces - Jaela Auguste, Erin Engel, Bella Lee, Taylor Parks, Isabel Martin and Alec Rothe - have taken no time to adjust to their new environment. Through 13 matches, the four freshman and two transfers have contributed 50.74% kills, 67.61% assists, 37.84% aces, 29.86% digs, 65.22% block solos, 61.27% block assists, 62.10% total blocks and 50.53% points to Florida's average stat line
