Meet the Gators: Kolt Myers
Tuesday, October 29, 2024 | Baseball
Second on the lineup card for the 2024 Meet the Gators series is infielder Kolt Myers of St, Augustine, Fla. Coming to the Orange & Blue from St. John's Country Day School, Myers is set to rep No. 25 at Florida.
As the No. 149 recruit nationally per Perfect Game, Myers ranked as the No. 21 player and No. 5 shortstop in the state. He also spent time with the FL Dodgers Scout Team and USA Prime National/Detroit Tigers Scout Team prior to arriving in Gator Country.
Starring under head coach Tom Lucas at St. John's Country Day, Myers slashed .305/.455/.475 to produce a hefty .931 OPS in his senior campaign. That batting line was accompanied by two homers, one triple, six doubles, 22 RBI and 22 runs across 112 plate appearances. Myers is also a threat with the legs, having swiped 17 bags in just 30 games last season.
Myers' performance was a major force behind St. John's Country Day's 2024 State Championship – the first in school history. In the state finals against Miami Christian, he produced an RBI knock in the third inning en route to a 4-3 Spartans victory.
Prior to his time at St. John's Country Day, Myers competed on the varsity squad at Bartram Trail High School under head coach Ryan Fitzpatrick from 2021-23.
From 2017-2023, Myers was named to 30 different all-tournament teams at various PG events. He was a Preseason All-Region First Team recipient in consecutive seasons from 2023-24 and was invited to the PG National Showcase in 2023.
As the son of Kim and Brett Myers, Kolt has one sister, Kylie, and two brothers, Koda and Kace. His father made a living as a 12-year veteran pitcher in the MLB, serving as a mainstay in the Philadelphia Phillies rotation from 2002-09 before cameos with the Houston Astros, Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Indians.
