GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 16 Florida softball team continues play at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium this weekend as the program hosts Georgia Southern (4-1), Loyola (4-0) and College of Charleston (2-3) for the 2024 Bubly Invitational this Friday through Sunday.
The Gators (6-1) enter the weekend after taking a pair of midweek contests against Jacksonville, 10-0 (6) and 9-1 (6), this past Tuesday and Wednesday. Freshmen pitchers
Ava Brown (3-0) and
Keagan Rothrock (2-1, 1 SV) earned the complete-game victories in each contest. The duo leads a UF pitching staff that sports a 0.30 ERA with three shutouts, three one-hitters, a perfect game and has held opposing batters to a .122 average at the plate.
Offensively, Florida has outscored opponents 61-7 through the first seven games of the year and is averaging 8.71 runs per game despite only scoring a pair of runs in the first two games of the year.
Skylar Wallace (12-for-22) and
Kendra Falby (13-for-28) pace UF at the plate and have accounted for 25 of the 70 total hits and 19 of the 61 runs scored.
Overall, the Gators are batting .343 (70-for-204) with a .574 slugging percentage and .441 on base percentage.
