Gators in Washington D.C. for Public Service Careers Exploration

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Gator student-athletes make up half of contingent in Washington D.C. today to learn about careers in public service.
Florida's representatives include:
Representatives from the University of Alabama and University of South Carolina join Florida's Black Student Athlete Council members on this trip to the Capitol. University of Florida Federal Relations is playing host to this event and Pierre Banks, UF Athletics Assistant Director of Community Development will lead the Florida quad.
The day's activities begin with a panel discussion with some recent graduates now working on Capitol Hill. One panelist with ties to Gator Athletics is Grace VanDeGrift, who graduated from UF in 2015 after competing on the cross country and track teams. VanDeGrift is currently a legislative assistant with Representative Steve Womack.
The group also meets with various Representatives from Alabama, Florida and South Carolina.
