GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Five University of Florida baseball players were named top-100 collegiate draft prospects for the 2025 MLB Draft this past week by D1Baseball in infielder Colby Shelton, right-hander Jake Clemente, outfielder/infielder Blake Cyr, infielder Cade Kurland and catcher/designated hitter Brody Donay.
Starting all 66 games at shortstop for the Gators this past season, Shelton was the highest-ranked UF player on the list at No. 34 overall. Shelton recently announced his decision to return to Florida for another season on social media. Clemente slotted in at No. 51, followed by Cyr (No. 94), Kurland (No. 95) and Donay (No. 98).
Florida was one of five schools to place at least five players in the top-100.
Shelton, Clemente, Kurland and Donay were all vital contributors on Florida's 2024 College World Series squad, with Kurland serving as UF's starting second baseman during consecutive trips to Omaha the past two seasons. Cyr represents the lone incoming transfer of the group, electing to continue his career as a Gator following two years at Miami.
