GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Gators starting center Jake Slaughter had a 2024 season to remember, earning First Team All-American honors.
Slaughter announced before the Gasparilla Bowl that he was returning to school next season and on Friday afternoon, he celebrated a special honor with more than 20 of his teammates, coaches and family.
Slaughter became the first UF player since offensive lineman O'Cyrus Torrence two years ago to earn First Team All-American honors and an honorary brick outside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The brick's unveiling took place during a ceremony on Friday that was attended by UF head coach Billy Napier and offensive line coaches Rob Sale and Jonathan Decoster.
